Privacy Policy
Last updated October 12, 2026
The short version: we only collect what MyLinkList needs to work. We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use analytics tools. When someone buys something through a store link, we may earn a small commission through our partner Skimlinks, at no extra cost to them. The person a list is for can never see who picked which gift.
Who we are
MyLinkList (“we”, “us”) is a gift wish-list app at mylinklist.app. If you have a question about this policy or your information, email us at hello@mylinklist.app.
What we collect
If you create an account:
- Your email address and password. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed), so we can't read it.
- Your first name.
- Anything you choose to add to your profile, like a photo, your birthday, your clothing sizes and your favorite things.
- Your lists: list names, occasions and dates, and the items you save (store links, product names, prices, photos and notes).
- Gifts you pick or chip in on for other people, thank-you notes, and Secret Santa groups you join, including the anonymous messages you send.
- Your notification choices, and if you turn on phone notifications, a code from your browser that lets us send them to your device.
- If you turn on two-step sign-in, the details needed to check your sign-in codes.
If you use a shared list without an account:
- The first name you type when you pick a gift or chip in, and the amount you say you'll chip in.
- A random code saved on your device so you can change or undo your pick later. We store it scrambled.
On your device: MyLinkList saves a few small things in your browser so it works smoothly, like keeping you signed in, which list you last opened and which view you prefer. MyLinkList doesn't use these for tracking or advertising. Our commission partner, Skimlinks, may also save cookies so a store knows a purchase came from MyLinkList (see “Services we use” below).
How we use it
- To run MyLinkList: show your lists, let family pick gifts, and keep track of who is getting what.
- To fill in a product's photo, name and price when you save a link, and to check saved items for price drops.
- To search stores when you look for a product. Only signed-in people can search, and there is a daily limit.
- To send the emails and phone notifications you've turned on, like reminders, price drops and thank-you notes. You can change these in your settings at any time.
- To keep your account secure.
We don't sell your information, rent it, or use it for advertising.
Who can see what
- Your list: anyone you share your list's link with can see the items on it.
- Gift picks: other people shopping from the same list can see that an item is taken and the first name of whoever picked it, so nobody buys the same gift twice. The person the list is for can never see who picked what.
- Your profile: anyone with your list's link can see your name, photo, and the birthday, sizes and favorites you've added, to help them choose a gift. People who share a list or Secret Santa group with you can see your name and photo, and your Secret Santa can see your birthday, sizes and favorites too. Only add what you're happy for them to see.
- Secret Santa: the organizer of a group can see who drew whom. Messages between you and your Secret Santa don't show who sent them.
Services we use
We use a small number of trusted companies to run MyLinkList. They only get the information they need to do their job.
- Supabase stores our database and photos, handles sign-in, and runs our server code.
- Cloudflare hosts the website.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Serper runs store searches. It receives the words you search for.
- Microlink sometimes fetches a product's details when a store won't let us read its page directly. It receives the product link.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver the app's fonts and a piece of its code. Like any website, they see your device's internet address when they do.
- Apple, Google or Mozilla deliver phone notifications, if you turn them on, depending on your device.
- Skimlinks helps MyLinkList earn a small commission when someone buys something through a store link. Its code runs on our site. When you open a store link, Skimlinks may change it into a commission link and record details like which link was clicked, the page it was on, your device's internet address and browser, and it may save cookies. It does not receive your name, email or lists. You can read Skimlinks' privacy policy or opt out of Skimlinks.
When we check a product for a new photo or price, we visit the store's page. We don't send stores any information about you.
Store links in MyLinkList take you to the store. Some of them earn MyLinkList a small commission if you buy something. This never changes the price you pay, and it never affects which items are on a list, since every list is made by the person it's for. Once you're on a store's site, its own privacy policy applies.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account. If you delete an item, a list or your account, the related information is removed from our database. A guest's gift pick may be freed up after 30 days if it's still open.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and change your profile, lists and notification settings in the app at any time.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: open your profile and tap “Delete my account”. Your lists, items, photos and profile are deleted right away. Gifts you picked or chipped in on for other people stay marked as taken, without your name, so nobody buys them twice.
- To get a copy of your information, or if you can't sign in to delete your account, email hello@mylinklist.app from the email address on your account. We'll take care of it within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live, you may have more rights over your information, such as the right to correct it or object to how it's used. Email us and we'll help.
Keeping it safe
Your information is sent over a secure connection. Our database is locked down so people can only see what they're allowed to see. You can also turn on two-step sign-in for extra protection. No system is perfect, so please use a strong password you don't use anywhere else.
Children
MyLinkList is meant for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has made an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Where your information is stored
Our service providers may store and process your information in the United States and other countries.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let account holders know by email or in the app.
